For FX Plus sustainability is a key priority which is engrained in all facets of their activities. Across the facilities there are a range of recycling and waste processes where evaluating for best practice was a priority. On hearing of the Sitemark solution FX Plus were keen to see if the benchmarking review could help the facility take its next steps on its recycling and waste journey.
THE SOLUTION
Sitemark's independent review provided a pre-determined process which could be relied upon to outline the benefits of the existing provision as well as advise on areas where change and improvement could be undertaken. Through the benchmarking FX Plus could confirm it had identified some excellent opportunities.
THE RESULT
Sitemark provided an extensive list of supportive change and Management opportunities, ideas, and strategies through the benchmarking review process.
Sitemark identified that within its market and regional sectors the rates currently being paid by FX Plus on an average basis whilst not the lowest are at the lower end of prevailing charging regimes.
Options for different collection methods and schedules were highlighted to help increase utilisation of current infrastructure and maximise cost efficiency.
Sitemark identified clear cut opportunities to offset waste stream values against costs to around 24% of the annual budget.
Identification of high value commodity materials which should be utilised to increase engagement with the circular economy and promote waste as an asset mentality.
Highlighted key waste streams such as coffee cups & mattresses which need addressing and solutions adapted. Ensuring best practice end of life solutions and cost efficiency.
Sitemark engaged in discussions to help FX Plus understand their legislative and compliance obligations across waste and educational processes.
